Biography

Dr. Neal Ginsberg is originally from the central New Jersey area. He spent his undergraduate years at Rutgers University where he graduated with honors in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Dr. Ginsberg then continued his education at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School earning his M.D. in 2000.

While in medical school, Dr. Ginsberg published several articles on LASIK and laser vision correction with one of the pioneers in the field of refractive surgery. After his medical internship, Dr. Ginsberg trained in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia becoming chief resident in 2003.

Following residency, Dr. Ginsberg completed fellowship training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Boston University.

During the time in Boston, Dr. Ginsberg received additional specialty training in corneal transplantation and laser vision correction. Dr. Ginsberg was appointed to the teaching staff at the Boston Veterans Hospital as well as Boston University Medical Center and spent time supervising and training residents from Boston University and the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary in modern cataract surgery.

In 2005, Dr. Ginsberg moved to Pittsfield to join Berkshire Eye Center. He is married and has three boys. When he is not practicing eye care, Dr. Ginsberg enjoys music, sailing, kayaking, RC flying, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Ginsberg is board certified in Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is accepting new patients of all ages for comprehensive eye care as well as corneal consultation.

His areas of interests include laser vision correction, dry eye, advanced cataract techniques, and endothelial corneal transplants.
